If you've been moving ur stuff around servers, would the IP I have to allow to connect have changed?

do you have the port open on your server? You must allow my server access to yours...

Ping leapsmart.net, and allow that IP

The IP I get from leapsmart is 209.213.115.9.
Ive forwarded all the ports from my router to the server.

no no.. you have to configure the username you're using... Like the MySQL username, does it allow connections from external hosts?

Ive done it exactly how it says so in the mini how-to guide.

ok u might have to wait for a response from Lazarus, b/c I'm now confused, and I don't know mysql command-line stuff... I use phpmyadmin :/

phpmyadmin saves a lot of time for sure!

What does PHPMyAdmin do?
BTW does it have to do anything with the fact in my.ini I added bind-address=127.0.0.1?

yea I don't know what that means :( Phpmyadmin is a web administration tool for mysql servers

After removing the above, I get this:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Host '209.213.115.8' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in D:\Websites\wc3mods.net\www\war3ft\vault.php on line 50
Could not connect : Host '209.213.115.8' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

Ill add that ip and see if it works

Hello, InfamousAngels:

Lets see if this can help.

One of your posts made me realize there is a missing step so temporary remove the "bind-address=127.0.0.1" from your my.ini file, after the conversion put it back (I'll update the HOWTO ASAP).

You followed the part of the MySQL for Warcraft 3 FT simple Mini-HOWTO regarding allowing access from the script, right? Now, since the servers went around, you will have to replace the following in the conversion section: wherever you find the IP 38.113.137.7 you will now replace it with the IP 209.213.115.8, wherever you find the domain name war3ft.com you will now replace it with the domain name leapsmart.net.

For future readers: This is a temporary fix until server location gets definitive so in future this might not apply anymore, when stable the correct IP and domain name will be put in the HOWTO.

You are behind a router/firewall right? That will be more difficult to set up since there are so many different ones with different configuration steps, but what you'll need to do is either put your game server temporary in the DMZ (or out of the firewall, or whatever your firewall calls it) or, if your firewall doesn't support DMZ, temporary port forward all ports to the game server IP. Got it? I'm sorry I can't be more specific with this but you get the idea.

I hope this helps,

Does the domain matter? I figured out the bind-address part, and changed the IP. I only added the IP for allowed access or w/e, and I did the conversion, and it seems it didnt get everyone, including me. Could that be related to not adding the domain address?

No, it's just for sure, since it resolves to a different IP.

It failed the conversion? What do you mean it didn't get everyone? Names with spaces don't get converted, not with the Web Tool, those have to be by hand, but all others should.

What I mean is, it says conversion successful, but not everyone got their XP back. I decided to tell the ppl that didnt get their XP that they ahve to start over.

Shouldn't happen. How many lost their XP? Have any of them a space or the character " ' " in their name?

IDK, and I dont really wanna check cus the vault is over 1.5 mb's. Alot of people lost XP in some races, not tottally. But its ok now, because everyone wants to "donate" to recive xp as a "gift" lol. Thanks for your help anyways though, without that guide I would never be able to do it :)
