CS Server cannot open SQL DB

I have an **OLD** warcraft3 server running 1.6.5
AMX version is 0.9.7
MetaMod version is 1.17
rcon lists posted below.
I was able to use the vault conversion page to create a table on the MySQL database, but for some reason the server can't connect using the same credentials which i've entered into the war3FT.cfg file. I've configured the SQL server to allow access for my gameserver.
I saw in the 'how to' that you need to enter a port= line into an INI for MySQL, however the only access I have is cPanel & PHPMyAdmin. There is no matching INI file anywhere in the FTP tree.
Can somebody help me?

AMX Mod is no longer supported here. Please upgrade to the latest version if you want help

Our community has made the decision not to update to the latest version because it is not something that the players want.
I'm relatively certain this is something that won't take much to fix, and I would like to get assistance from someone that knows what they're doing.

I think that your policy of no update = no support is unnecessary, and it's the kind of thing I avoid when I troubleshoot PCs, but maybe that's because I get paid to do it...
It was clear enough, I just didn't expect to get this kind of response. It's not necessary to discontinue support for it, especially if it's a well-traveled issue that shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to resolve.
The only reason I'm using this version is because of community and donor demand, personally I like the changes of the 3.0 RCs - except the spectator of doom glitch...
Is there any chance you'll reconsider your response or should I continue spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to fix it myself?

The main problem I have is that you are using the version for AMX, which is dead. If you upgrade to 2.3.2, I would consider helping.

are you referring to War3FT 2.3.2?
our old server @ 69.93.114.118:27015 is running it fine
the new server @ 216.6.226.163:27015 is running on vaulted XP
like i said, i've done just about everything i can on my end. I'd love to get this solved today so we can start redirecting players to the new IP.

Overkill -
Do you have the source code for the version you are using? Honestly I don't remember the work I did pre-2.3.2 - if you could post the .sma file I'll take a look.
And I agree - I don't like the policy of "update or no help" - but honestly we get a decent amount of requests (and sadly don't have time) - so difficult to research some of these issues. Yours seems relatively tiny so I'll try to help if I can.

To answer questions in advance i have 2 monitors and a few nifty scripts that let me run it in a window.

I don't get an error message anywhere, and can't find a log file.
What happens is this:
Installed war3ft mod - OK
Save & Load XP using vault - OK
Convert vault to SQL using website - OK
Save & Load XP using SQL file - FAIL
Revert to VAULT - OK

wait - so you try to import the SQL file and that fails? How are you importing it? (Note: war3ft doesn't do this - you have to do it manually using something like phpmyadmin)

Sorry for the confusion
by "Save & Load XP using SQL file" I mean I've changed sv_sql to 1 in my .cfg file
I guess i should have said SQL database...oops
I used your very ingenious web tool to create the table and all that jazz for me
I also decided to eliminate the version of the mod I'm using and temporarily installed 2.3.2, it said "An error has occurred when retreiving your race infrmation, please contact a server administrator"
I changed sv_sql to 0 and it worked fine.
Apparently, it's an issue with read/write access for the SQL database.
I know it's not the credentials because I used the same credentials to create the war3users table in the database. Could it be the port that the game server is trying to access the SQL server on?

The port that the server is using should be the default (3306). Verify that the server IP has access to the sql database first.

Okay, let me phrase it this way.
Did you add the user BEFORE you added the access thingy? I have noticed that if you allow a new ip, sometimes you need to readd the user to get it to work correctly.
