XP vaults and MySQL DBs...

Post by Dopey » Sat Aug 27, 2005 1:46 pm

Hi there. I happen to run a few Day of Defeat zombie servers, and I have multiple questions that cannot be answered by the search button or FAQ. My XP vault file for my main server is now 2 megabytes large. I'm thinking it is causing excessive map change time. Every player times out before the map actually changes. Is this expected? How do most of you manage your XP vaults or MySQL databases? Would converting to MySQL solve this problem? I've also been interested in using a MySQL database to try and share one database for each of my servers. Is this possible? It would be nice to be able to log on either of my servers and still have the same exact XP as the others. What do you guys recommend? If using MySQL is the way to go, would someone mind posting a link for me on where to get started? Thanks a lot! :)
